Only See You When I Look at Myself, 2022

The geophysical phenomenon of the so-called erratic block refers to rock that does not naturally occur in the place it was found but was moved there by glacial or water movement. These rocks, also known as foundlings, serve Milda Lembertaitė & Amelia Prazak as a symbol for multi-layered questions about identity, belonging, emplacement, and transit. The resulting performance Only See You When I Look at Myself is conceived as a video essay, in which the artists simultaneously use screens as props, prostheses, as well as carriers of moving images in order to highlight the embeddedness of the human body in the devices of the media age. The search for healing and purification accompanies the narrative and finds its expression in the flow of water, which streams through body, rock, and device.
